Plan Your Visit to Big Sky PBR | Tickets, Schedules, & More

While Big Sky is known for its endless outdoor activities, it’s also home to a jam-packed calendar of events. From checking out incredible music festivals to trying delicious bites at a food festival, there’s something for everyone. One of the year’s most anticipated events is the Big Sky PBR. To help you make the most of your trip to this annual event, the team at Two Pines Properties has put together a guide with important information.

An Overview of the Schedule

For three days in July, some of the world’s best bull riders make their way to Big Sky for the annual Big Sky PRB. However, the fun isn’t limited to three days of riding. The yearly event features things to do that the whole community can enjoy.

Things kick off with the Community Rodeo and Community Street Dance. There’s also Bingo Night, a golf tournament, and more, all leading up to the highly anticipated bull riding nights.

There are three different nights of riding, with the championship night taking place on Saturday night. We recommend getting to the Big Sky Events Arena early to stock up on snacks and drinks.

What to Know about Attending the Event

There are several different ticket options available, ranging from general admission to Golden Buckle VIP. If tickets are sold out, you can sign up for the waitlist.

Another great way to attend the rodeo is to volunteer with BigSkySNO, which is dedicated to protecting and preserving the Big Sky community through sustainability and environmental initiatives. To learn more about their volunteer opportunities at this Big Sky event, fill out their contact form.

When you arrive at the venue, there is designated parking via passes sold at the gate on a first-come, first-served basis. You can access the lot on Aspen Leaf Drive.

For more answers to common questions, visit the PBR’s FAQ page.

What to Look for When Choosing Your Big Sky Lodging

Planning the perfect vacation takes a bit of work and checking things off your list. The first is deciding where to vacation. The second is where to call home. Choosing a vacation rental is an important and crucial step. For anyone planning a visit to Big Sky, there’s no better place to turn for the perfect home base than Two Pines Properties. There are several things to consider when searching our inventory for your dream Big Sky lodging. To help ensure you find the perfect fit, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most important things to keep in mind.

  1. Does It Have Enough Room for Everyone?

Finding the right Big Sky rental can make you feel a little bit like Goldilocks. You want a home or condo that’s big enough for everyone to have room to feel comfortable. You don’t want a place that’s so small you feel cramped. However, you also don’t want a property that’s so large trying to find someone feels like a game of hide and seek. Luckily, our inventory has Big Sky homes ranging from two bedrooms to six, which means we have something that fits just right.

  1. Is It Close to Your Top Activities?

Whether planning a winter getaway where you’ll spend as much time on the slopes at Big Sky Resort, which is celebrating 50 years of skiing, as possible or looking forward to an unforgettable spring break, there are countless ways to spend your Big Sky vacation. As you browse our inventory, consider where each property is located. Our lodging is found in some of the best areas of town, like Big Sky Resort, Town Center, and more. Choosing the right location can help ensure your top adventures, like riding the Lone Peak Tram, are only a short distance away.

  1. What’s on Your List of Wants and Needs?

The perfect vacation rental is a blend of the comforts of home and luxurious amenities. When starting your search, consider making a list of wants and needs. You need enough bedrooms to accommodate everyone, but maybe you want a spacious hot tub as well. Having this kind of list can help you narrow down your choices.

Experience the Unforgettable Beauty of Montana in the Fall

While summer and winter are known as the top months to visit Big Sky, there is another time to consider. Montana in the fall, often considered the off-season, is one of the best-kept-secret times to plan your visit. Not only will you have a better chance of securing your top rental from Two Pines Properties, but you can also explore Big Sky and all the things to do here without large crowds.

What to Do during a Big Sky Autumn

During the fall, Big Sky experiences idyllic weather, with temperatures starting in the 70s and falling as time moves on. This means you have plenty of time to get outdoors and create lifelong memories.

Leaf Peeping

One activity anyone visiting Montana in the fall needs to experience is leaf peeping. The already stunning landscape is made more breathtaking as trees take on their autumn hues. The cottonwood and aspen trees are covered in fall foliage of gold and red. There are several places near Big Sky to take in these examples of Mother Nature’s beauty, including Yellowstone National Park or Ousel Falls Park Trail.

Fly Fishing

This time of year is also great for wading into the water and fly fishing. Whether you’re new to this sport or a seasoned angler, the best way to cast your line is with a knowledgeable guide. Gallatin River Guides offers several year-round trips for both full and half-day outings. Be sure to get your fishing license beforehand.

Spooky Festivals

There is always something happening in Big Sky, and fall is no exception. The end of October marks the return of the annual Haunted Peaks Halloween Festival in Big Sky Town Center. The three-day celebration is filled with fun for the whole family, including a costume block party, a horror film festival, and a haunted run to the pub.
